Dr. Powell brings together experience as a counselor educator, a group practice founder, an EMDRIA-approved trainer and consultant, and a grant-funded researcher. She partners with organizations to build clinician confidence, strengthen fidelity to evidence-based practice, and expand access to care, especially in rural and underserved communities.
Who Dr. Powell Works With
Agencies & Community Organizations
Dr. Powell offers trauma-informed training, EMDR implementation support, and program development grounded in more than a decade of work in community mental health, child welfare, and group practice leadership. Past trainings include programs for the Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi TX-CHIP Program, Coastal Bend CASA, and the Texas Child Care Administrators Conference.
School Districts
Dr. Powell provides customized EMDR refresher trainings and ongoing group and individual consultation that help district counselors strengthen clinical fidelity and apply EMDR with confidence. She also offers trauma-informed and mental-health-awareness presentations for school and afterschool programs.
Featured partner: Mission CISD. In 2026, Dr. Powell delivered a 2-day private training for Mission Consolidated ISD counselors, EMDR Refresher: Strengthening Clinical Fidelity and Application. She continues to support the district with ongoing EMDR group consultation and individual consultation.
Research Partners
Dr. Powell contributes EMDR subject-matter expertise, study selection and data analysis, and a counselor education perspective to university and community research teams.
Counselors & Supervisees
Dr. Powell has been a Texas Board Approved Supervisor since 2019 and provides EMDR consultation for clinicians working toward EMDRIA certification.
LPC Associate supervision is currently closed. Dr. Powell is not accepting new LPC Associate supervisees at this time.
